Words once spoken,
Can never be taken back,
Like daggers they pierce the heart,
And leave a permanent crack.
Love, once so tender,
Now tainted with hurt and sorrow,
As words of anger and frustration,
Leave us with no tomorrow.
The pain of spoken words,
Cuts deeper than any knife,
Leaving scars that never heal,
And a heart that's lost its life.
Oh, how I wish I could turn back time,
And choose my words with care,
For now my love is broken,
And my heart is left in despair.
So take heed of these words,
And choose them wisely and true,
For the pain of spoken words from love,
Is a pain that can never be undone anew.
